Lifetime Orders ‘American Princess’ Drama Series From Jenji Kohan & Jamie Denbo

Lifetime has given a straight-to-series order to American Princessfrom Jenji KohanJamie Denbo, and Tara Herrmann, A+E Studios and IM Global Television. The network has ordered 10 hourlong episodes of the scripted drama.

Created, written and executive produced by Denbo (Ronna & Beverly)American Princess follows Amanda, an Upper East Side socialite, who runs off to join a Renaissance Faire after her wedding goes awry. Amanda’s storybook wedding plans are dramatically derailed when she discovers her fiancé is cheating on her, just hours before they are to be wed. Outraged, Amanda reacts violently to the indiscretions and runs away from her own dream wedding in the countryside, only to find herself stranded in the middle of a Renaissance Faire with no phone and no way home. She soon discovers her outburst has made tabloid headlines and experiences a nervous breakdown, leading her to re-evaluate her life. The unexpected awakening leads Amanda to leave everything she thought she cared about behind, to become the Faire’s newest wench-in-waiting.
Kohan (Orange Is the New Black, Weeds, GLOW) and Herrmann (Orange Is the New Black, GLOW) also executive produce.

“Jenji has always taken interesting and unconventional worlds and given them heart and humor,” said Gateley. “From the get-go, American Princess was a concept we loved as it’s incredibly relatable to want to parachute from one’s life in difficult times. In Jenji, Jamie and Tara’s hands, we know this will be hilarious and special.”
Said Paul Buccieri, President of A+E Studios and A+E Networks Portfolio Group: “In the current landscape of scripted television programs, American Princess is a true standout. This series continues building on the premium storytelling that is a foundation of A+E Studios, and we are thrilled to partner with IM Global.”
Said IM Global Television’s Mark Stern, “American Princess is exactly the kind of smart, high-quality series that IM Global Television aspires to. We’re excited to be in partnership with A+E Studios.”

Taylor Swift Didn't Throw a Fourth of July Party, So Her Squad Scattered: How the Singer's Friends Spent the Holiday Without Her

This year's Fourth of July was another sort of Independence Day for Taylor Swift 's coterie of pals.

As far as anyone's been able to tell, the singer opted for a far more low-key holiday than usual this year and did not throw the picture-perfect, wish-we-were-there party we've grown accustomed to her throwing at her oceanfront estate in Rhode Island. It's possible that Taylor was there, as her parents, Andrea and Scott, were photographed in town near the house, but she did not advertise if she was.

The lack of festivities didn't come as a huge shock for multiple reasons: First of all, Swift has been operating decidedly under the radar for months now, barely being seen let alone sharing her world on Instagram for all to savor. Hosting a big bash would have signaled a return to the spotlight of sorts, and she doesn't seem to be ready for that yet.

Moreover, such a move wouldn't fit in with her revamped approach to romance.

Swift has been quietly dating British actor Joe Alwyn, jetting back and forth from London to see him, and let's just say that Taylor's attempt at adding a new boyfriend to the 4th of July mix kinda backfired last year.

So without one massive home to gather at, that meant Swift's squad was on its own—and it appears that, without the red, white and blue slide holding them together, they scattered to the four winds for the 4th.

End of an era or just life and supermodel schedules getting in the way this summer? Here's where the pals who've patriotically partied with Swift in recent years spent the holiday in 2017:

Abigail Anderson, Swift's childhood best friend who's been pretty busy lately planning her wedding, celebrated at Frisky Frog's in Nashville with fiancé Matt Lucier, where the festivities appeared to include selfie-snapping and Moscow mules.

Then a legion of the squad was lost to France, where Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week is underway: Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Cara Delevingne(both she and Karlie made the scene at Chez Taylor in 2016) are all there.

Una publicación compartida de Karlie Kloss (@karliekloss) el

Fellow 2016 reveler Gigi Hadid got fans all hot and bothered with a shirtless pic of Zayn Malik holding a puppy that she posted to her Instagram story over the weekend, and then she appeared to be on the go via private jet. "traveling light n bright," she wrote, highlighting her hot-pink Max Mara bag.

Ryan Reynolds, who was one tank top shy of stealing the entire show with the expression on his face in that infamous couples' pic last year, is off shooting Deadpool 2 in Vancouver, so it's unclear if he was even free to celebrate with his wife and kids. ("I had no idea somebody was taking a photo. Therefore I was resting comfortably in my persona of a man whose soul is visibly exiting this earth," Reynolds handily explained last year's his resting bemused face to EW.)

Blake Lively, meanwhile, may have gotten her inflatable slide fix at a family-friendly carnival, where she snapped a July 4 pic in front of a pretty impressive-looking bouncy house.

Una publicación compartida de Blake Lively (@blakelively) el

Martha Hunt also went the carnival route, sharing a video of fireworks going off above a lit-up Ferris wheel.

Uzo Aduba, who enjoyed the Swift scene last year, is off in paradise somewhere on a beach vacation—looking at the unidentified scenery, Instagram commenters have speculated Mallorca and Brazil (though it could also be Hawaii...).

Este, Alana and Danielle Haim have been busy counting down to their July 9 show in London, and tonight in New York they're hosting a screening for fans of Valentine, a short film shot late last year while they were working on their new album by none other than Paul Thomas Anderson. "Fight Song" singer Rachel Platten, also a guest last summer, spent this holiday weekend with a different set of gal pals.

No word yet on how Ruby Rose spent the 4th, but she's been happily keeping company with The Veronicas' Jessica Origliasso and recently credited her busy schedule for not being up on the latest gossip.

"I don't have a lot of downtime and I think that's when people have difficulties because they sort of feel like their private life is changed. Me, I'm always on a set," the model-actress, who's in Pitch Perfect 3, told Australia's Daily Telegraph last month. "We're living in a bit of a bubble.'"

We do know that Rose visited Los Angeles' newest celebrity hot spot, the Museum of Ice Cream, a few weeks ago.

As for some of the guests from years past...

Jaime King, whose son counts Taylor as his godmother, watched fireworks with her family. Lena Dunham wished her fans a happy Fourth from New York, showing off her patriotic manicure and being sure to crack wise about her see-through top and skirt, a "touch of inappropriate under to outer garment ratio."

And Emma Stone, who attended Swift's inaugural Fourth of July bash in 2014 but has since drifted out of the fold, was most recently photographed last Friday in La La Land after a pilates class.

Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston is British, so perhaps he forgot all about the Fourth of July this year.

As for Taylor herself, she recently emerged from her self-imposed solitude to congratulate NBA star Russell Westbrook on being named MVP this year, and new music is in the works.

"She has been entirely focused on that and not much else," a source recently told E! News. Much less party planning.

Taylor Swift's 4th of July Party Squad: A Visual Guide

There ain't no party like a Taylor Swift Fourth of July party.
A few years ago, the pop star started a tradition of hosting an Instagram-friendly beach bash, complete with red, white and blue bikinis, super fun activities and delicious barbecue and baked treats, at her Rhode Island beach home for her squad of besties on Independence Day.
Last year's party included guests such as Martha Hunt, the HAIM sisters and Gigi Hadid—all of whom also came to Swift's 2015 bash, plus models Karlie Kloss and Cara DelevingneBlake Lively and husband Ryan ReynoldsUzo Aduba and her Orange Is the New Black co-star Ruby Rose, singer Rachel Platten and the singer's then-boyfriend and British Thor star Tom Hiddleston. Swift has since moved on with new boyfriend Joe Alwyn, also a British actor.
The bash featured an inflatable slide, which was also used in the singer's party the year before.

Her 2015 Fourth of July bash was also attended by BFF Ed Sheeran, Hadid's then-boyfriend Joe Jonas and Swift's then-boyfriend Calvin Harris.

Get Olivia Munn’s Rosy Glow At the Billboard Music Awards 2017

You glow, girl! Olivia Munn hit the Billboard Music Awards 2017 Sunday, May 21 in an ornate sheer black gown with floral detail by Redemption and makeup done with a decidedly light hand.

The first step to a glowing-from-within flush: A thick moisturizer “to give extra hydration that will allow the makeup to lay beautifully on the skin,” says Ta. He applied it all over the face and under eyes to prevent creasing. He followed with foundation by La Mer, applied with a dense brush for a dewy finish. To brighten Munn’s eyes, he tapped in a concealer two shades lighter than skin with a beauty blender.
For the rosy cheeks, Ta layered shades and textures – and there was a twist! First, Ta applied Chanel’s cream bronzer to the hollows of the cheeks with a small blending brush “to give some dimension to the face.” Then he swirled Chanel Rouge Profound blush on apples of the cheeks with a fluffy brush, then mixed in a dab of shade Vibration, pressed in with a Beauty Blender. After powdering with La Mer loose powder to “allow skin to look dewy in all the right places,” he topped the high points of the cheekbones with Chanel’s Ombré Eyeshadow (yes, eyeshadow!) in Sable to “act as an illuminating powder to give extra sheen.”

Munn’s eyes sparkled thanks to a coat of Chanel’s creamy Illusion D’Ombre eye shadows New Moon in the crease and Convoitise on lids to act as primer. Powder shadow in Bronze Antique and Sable were brushed on top, and then Ta used a bit of the blush he used on cheeks on lids “to tie all the colors together.” After curling lashes and applying two coats of mascara, he popped on a few Ardell individual lashes.

Lips were kissed with Chanel Rouge Allure Ink in Luxuriant, followed by Seduction lip liner, Ta tells Us, “to create the perfect red carpet lip shape.”

If you’re planning to visit the Disneyland Resort this summer and enjoy the new, action-packed attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout! inside Disney California Adventure, you might want to consider staying at one of the Disneyland Resort’s three on-property hotels for the ultimate vacation experience, totally enveloped in the magic.

Whether you’re interested in the original Disneyland Hotel, upgraded with the latest modern facilities but infused with nostalgia, or Disney’s Paradise Pier hotel with its view over the iconic Paradise Pier section of the park, or or the arts & crafts style Disney’s Grand California Hotel & Spa you’ll find a a price point to fit your family’s needs. As we’ve reported the Grand Californian is currently in the middle of a hotel-wide renovation which includes new rooms and upgrades to the public areas. The most extensive refurbishment since the hotel’s opening in 2001.

“While each resort hotel offers something unique for guests, what remains consistent is Disney’s exceptional guest service, famed hospitality and of course, magic,” said Elliot Mills, vice president, Hotel Operations, at the Disneyland Resort. “At our three hotels, you are just footsteps from everything, making it easy to play at both theme parks and to explore Downtown Disney. When you extend your stay at the Disneyland Resort, you are sure to create unforgettable memories.”

For a limited time, a special hotel offer is available for guests looking to stay in the middle of the magic. Ideal Daytime Activities

Guests will enjoy sunny summer days at any of the distinct pools found at the on-property hotels. The Disneyland Hotel pool and water play area feature waterslides reminiscent of the original Mark I Monorail trains from Disneyland Park in the early ‘60s. The boardwalk-inspired, rooftop pool at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel features a 186-foot slide resembling a classic, beachside roller coaster.

At Disney’s Grand Californian, the recently refreshed pool deck includes new hardscape reinforcing the resort’s Craftsman design. A variety of natural stones were chosen to create a warm and welcoming environment at each pool. The 90-foot-long Redwood Creek waterslide curves around a giant Redwood tree stump, inviting guests to come and splash into the Redwood Pool.

The pools at each of the hotels come to life during energetic afternoon pool parties. These parties throughout the summer include games, music, dancing and more.

Guests who enjoy lounging by the pool may consider reserving a private, poolside cabana, available at the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian for a half-day or full-day rental. Guests will stretch out under a shaded cabana equipped with everything they need to relax.

Special Evening Experiences

On select summer nights, guests also will enjoy movie screenings at all three hotels. During Magical Night at the Movies, guests are encouraged to kick back on beach chairs and towels to watch a Disney movie under the stars.

Guests with concierge-level reservations may take advantage of evening desserts and after- dinner beverages in the three hotels’ concierge lounges. For guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel, the E-Ticket Club is ideal for viewing the nighttime fireworks spectacular with a corresponding soundtrack piped in throughout the lounge.

Extra Magic Hour at the Theme Parks

Guests also enjoy many extras when they stay at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. Registered Disneyland Resort hotel guests with admission tickets may take advantage of Extra Magic Hour, which allows them access to select theme park attractions, stores, entertainment and dining locations for one full hour before the parks open to the general public (available on select mornings; theme park admission and valid hotel key card required**). In addition to being steps away from Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks, the hotels are a short walk from the eclectic mix of dining, shopping and entertainment features of the Downtown Disney District.

Westgate Resort Hosted Armed Forces Families For Military Weekend 2017

Our Armed Forces Personnel sacrifice so much for us all to live in the “Land of the Free.” Westgate Resort hosted, along with sponsors such as Disney, Sea World, and Merlin Entertainment, to name a few about 1,000 military families this past weekend to enjoy time together as a family. The Military Weekend 2017 took place at Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort.

Many of the families were given complimentary tickets to some of the Central Florida Theme Parks, to include Walt Disney World and Sea World Orlando, for Saturday.
The families were also given a two nights stay at the Westgate Resort in Kissimmee.
The families were allowed complimentary access to Westgate’s beautiful Shipwreck Island Water Park located right on the grounds of the Resort.

Westgate Resort hosted a VIP Reception Saturday evening, from 5:30pm-7:00pm, overlooking the tranquil waters of the Resort.

Saturday evening concluded with a Color Guard Ceremony, the singing of The National Anthem, a speech given by COO Michael Waltrip and CEO David Siegel, and a Concert by country music artist Lee Greenwood followed by a Fireworks Spectacular.

The evening was emotionally charged with beautiful presentations, American Flags waving proudly, military families with so many different life stories to tell, and Patriotic Music. When Lee Greenwood sang “God Bless the USA” there was a not a dry eye on the Concert Green of Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort.

We wish to send our deepest appreciation to Katie Neumann of TJM Communications for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of honoring our military families during Westgate’s Military Weekend 2017.
