Once Upon a Time Season 7 Will Be Missing Snow White, Charming and Belle

It looks like the rumors of Once Upon a Time's reset are true and next season is going to mean a lot less of your favorite characters.
Ginnifer GoodwinJosh DallasEmilie de Ravin and Jared S. Gilmore will be done with the show after the Season 6 finale, according to Deadline. None of those actors were on the list of characters that were expected to return as the show pivots in a new direction for next season. The original talk was that Jennifer Morrison, Colin O'Donoghue, Lana Parrilla and Robert Carlyle would be the only series regulars to continue on -- but that went up in the air when Morrison announced her exit earlier this week. The remaining actors will join The Walking Dead alum Adam J. West, whose character will be introduced in Sunday's season finale.

Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas, Once Upon a Time

The Season 6 finale will showcase the final battle between Emma (Morrison) and the Black Fairy (Jaime Murray) and has been heralded as the last chapter in the storybook that has contained Storybrooke's and the Enchanted Forest's magical history. It makes sense that the end of the book would mean a permanent end for some of the characters' stories.
The timing of Goodwin's and Dallas' exit makes sense. Snow White and Charming's sole purpose on the show has been to reunite with their daughter Emma and help her become the hero she was always meant to be. If Emma's story is over, it makes sense that Snow White and Charming would gracefully move to the background as well. The same goes for Henry (Gilmore) who has always been treated as a galvanizing force and inspiration for Emma rather than graduating to his own storylines.
The shocking part of this news is that de Ravin is choosing to exit the show. If Carlyle is to continue on as Rumpelstiltskin, it appears that he will be losing his love Belle. She is the source of all the goodness and heroic acts he has acquired over the series. If there is no Belle moving forward, will Rumple fall back into the darkness that once consumed him?
The same concern goes for O'Donoghue who will reportedly continue on as Hook even though Emma will not play a major part in Season 7. His redemption arc has been tied to him becoming the man worthy of being the Savior's true love. How will Hook change if Emma is no longer by his side?
Centering the new season on Parrilla's Regina is a no-brainer of course. She's long been one of the most dynamic characters on the show. After killing off her second true-love Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), Regina is poised to take center stage on the show and craft out a hero's story on her own.
The Final Battle for Once Upon a Time begins Sunday at 7/6c on ABC.

Fuller House’s Jodie Sweetin Has Signed on to ABC’s 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 22

Stephanie Tanner is getting her turn in the spotlight. Fuller House’s Jodie Sweetin has signed on for season 22 of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, an insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“I started dancing when I was, like, 3,” the actress, 34, told NJ.com in 2013. “I don't know if you called what I did great dancing, but it was fun.”

Sweetin added plenty of moves to her repertoire during her Full House days. “The girls I danced with in [Full House] were girls I actually trained with in the studio,” added the mom of Zoie, 7, and Beatrix, 5. “So I danced outside the show and they sort of incorporated that as part of the character for Stephanie.”

Less enthusiastic about hitting the ballroom: Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky. Says a source, “John Stamos and Lori Loughlin have turned down the show.”

Fuller House begins streaming on Netflix February 26, and season 22 of Dancing With the Stars premieres on ABC Monday, March 21 at 8 p.m. EST.

‘OUAT’: Hook takes one for the team, Emma has yet another love lost

In its fifth season winter finale, “Once Upon a Time” gets out of the pickle of all pickles.

After countless Dark Ones decided to take a road trip to Storybrooke, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) was in danger of having her loved ones go to the Underworld in their places.

Even Rumpelstilskin (Robert Carlyle) — who just got back with Belle — was especially pessimistic about the situation. His only suggestion is for the group to say their goodbyes because they are sure to die soon.

In their toughest feat to date, good eventually prevails. Hook turns out not to be all bad after all and takes one for the team in a literal sense.

After casting out all of the dark magic and sacrificing himself in the process, poor Emma has yet another love lost.

Unfortunately for her, Hook dies for nothing. In actuality, Rumple pulls a fast one and illogically absorbs the powers of every Dark One ever. So many questions, but that doesn’t seem to be a big deal.

Emma is upset that her beloved Hook is dead, so she decides to go to the Underworld and get him back. Yes, you read write. “Once Upon a Time” is going to Hell.

“Hook, I will find you. I will always find you,” Emma declares while taking a cruise with what looks to be the Grim Reaper.

After three of Emma’s romances dying in front of her in seasons one and three, it makes sense that she won’t let this one go down with a fight.

As the entire gang piles into the boat of death, the cost won’t be cheap. Someone will have to sacrifice their life in order to come back, but there is sure to be some sort of loop hole that the crew will figure out.

When it returns in March, the ABC series will have guest appearances from Disney’s mythological feature “Hercules.” Upon arriving to the Underworld, Hades will meet the heroes, no doubt.

Also set to appear are Hercules and Megora , who will be played by Jonathan Whitesell and Kacey Rohl, respectively.

One character that will not be shown for a while is Zelena (Rebecca Mader). The Wicked Witch of the West was swept away to Oz by her Regina (Lana Parilla).

“Once Upon a Time” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

'Uncle Buck' Remake Ordered to Series at ABC

ABC is continuing to bet big on diversity.

The network on Friday handed out a series order to its African-American-led remake of Uncle Buck, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Based on John Hughes' 1989 movie, the comedy centers on Uncle Buck (Mike Epps) a fun-loving but irresponsible guy who needs a job and place to stay. By happy coincidence, his nieces and nephew’s nanny has just quit, and his brother and sister-in-law need his help. His unconventional personality just may make him the right fit for the family, and they may be the answer to his problems, too.

Nia Long, James Lesure, Iman Benson, Sayeed Shahidi and Aalyrah Caldwell round out the cast.

The comedy was written by Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley (Happy Endings), who exec produce alongside Will Packer and his Will Packer Productions topper Korin Huggins as well as Phil Traill. The series is a co-production between ABC Studios and Universal Television, with the latter's Universal Pictures owning the rights to the movie.

Buck was one of many remakes being developed this past year, as the broadcast networks looked for ways to cut through the growing clutter with pre-sold names and premises. Among the remakes that went to pilot, CBS' Rush Hour and Limitless both look good, and Fox is expected to pickup its Minority Report take.

For ABC, the Uncle Buck pickup comes as the network has bet big — and won viewers — with multiple series fronted by more diverse casts. Those include comedies Black-ish and Fresh Off the Boat — both renewed for second seasons.

Uncle Buck becomes ABC's fourth comedy order for the 2015-16 season. It joins Asian-American family comedy Dr. Ken, The Real O'Neals and its Muppets reboot. For Packer, meanwhile, Uncle Buck joins NBC comedy People Are Talking — giving the Ride Along producer two shows on the schedule next season, following his first year producing for the small screen.

Marvel News: Penultimate Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Art of Evolution sets the stage for an intense finale

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s second season has introduced us to new faces, new sections of government, and new characters with powerful abilities. Next week, it all comes together in an explosive, intense and high-energy two hour season finale—and to commemorate the episode, Marvel is proud to bring you two separate pieces in the final installments of this season’s The Art of Evolution.

Artist Ryan Sook brings some of the show’s most beloved characters to life in the poster for part one of “S.O.S.,” which will deal with the inevitable aftermath of Jiaying’s ominous “we are at war” declaration from the end of this week’s episode. Sook has done a variety of work at Marvel, most notably covers for X-Factor. Additionally, he’s well known for the work he’s done at DC Comics, where his projects include Hawkman, Arkham Asylum: Living Hell, Justice League and The Spectre.

We preview the FitzSimmons centric art with series EP Jeff Bell, and share some teases from next week’s double header.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I think this is such a smart poster. I love the style, but I also love the double juxtaposition of the wording: “mad science” given FitzSimmons’ background, especially as it relates to powered people. And then of course the “Hyde” reference for Cal, who is known in the comics as “Mr. Hyde.” JEFF BELL: It’s really fun, and we pitched a couple of different ideas. And I think the thing was that we hadn’t really featured FitzSimmons…they’ve been small, but they hadn’t really gotten their moment. So putting them together like that, sort of helping to illustrate their evolution over the past few seasons—from sort of afraid of everything in the dark to people who can take care of themselves—it’s a nice way to honor them here. I love the old school look with the five faces up in the corner.

This week, I felt we got kind of a lead-up to Fitz and Simmons in terms of how they might figure into the events of the finale…especially with Simmons’ line about killing Ward, which seems almost like foreshadowing of Simmons crossing a certain line. I think they each get something that’s a big piece of the puzzle. It’s hard when you have so many characters you love, and you’re trying to tie them all together and bring people together. And then you have different versions of S.H.I.E.L.D., and now they’re starting to come back together, so I can’t wait to see what people think.

Looking back on this run, what I really love about all these art pieces is the way they’ve dropped hints not just for the specific episode that they’re focusing on, but also for the overarching storylines. Right. And because they come out before the episodes, we have to be a little coy with it. You can’t just go “Jiaying’s a monster in episode 20.” [laughs] You can’t go too far.

And we saw Cal give himself over to S.H.I.E.L.D., in an attempt to save his family. But with the way he’s depicted here, I’d imagine he might not be as innocent as we’ve been led to believe… That seems reasonable. [laughs]

Given that all hell is going to break loose in this hour, what can you tease about the first part of the finale? Episodes 20, 21 and 22 almost work as a three-parter. I think because we were doing the full two hours on the final night, we really decided to just lead into that. We left episode 20 with Jiaying saying “this is war,” and Skye assuming that Gonzales shot her and attacked her, so we have S.H.I.E.L.D. and Inhumans and all our different threads finally coming together. And Skye is really torn between these two factions, between her surrogate family and her real family. Where will she go with that? And we’ve been promising Inhumans and some fun powered stuff, and hopefully we can make good on that promise as well.

“S.O.S.”, the first part of the season two finale, airs Tuesday, May 12 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. Be sure to check EW tomorrow morning to see the exclusive reveal of the final art piece for episode 22. The art for “S.O.S.” part one will go on sale on Friday, May 8 at www.marvelshop.com/agentsofshield as a $49.99 print (limited to 100 copies) at 12:30 a.m. PT.

Marvel News: Spinoff of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. eyed, Adrianne Palicki & Nick Blood to lead

As Agents Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse and Lance Hunter, Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood have a tempestuous on-again-off-again relationship that ads a bit of will they or won’t they tension to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Now they’ll get a chance to explore that dynamic even further in their own spin-off from the hit ABC Series.

It’s true that Palicki’s had hitting Mockingbird has developed a fan following, and I’ve enjoyed the play between her and Blood’s character. They always seem to have an extra surprise up their sleeves for whomever they encounter. They also have a natural rhythm when they work together on assignment.

As Agents, Morse and Hunter, were second season additions to the Marvel TV show. As it currently stands, the two characters are on opposite sides of opposing factions on the good guys, but still in love. Events of the last few episodes this year are supposed to provide the jumping off point for the spin-off.

Like last year with “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the events of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” are also expected to have an impact on our team in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Should be an interesting last five episodes this season.

With Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a second mini-season for Agent Carter, this new spin-off and a potential fourth series (based on Ms. Marvel says internet rumors), there’s a lot of marvel-ly goodness coming to ABC in the future. What other Marvel properties do you think would make for a good TV show?

As announced this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America, the celebrities with their professional partners heading to the ballroom this season (in alphabetical order) are: NOAH GALLOWAY — A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Sergeant Noah Galloway was assigned to the 1st of the 502nd Infantry of the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Just three months into his second tour of duty, he experienced a life changing injury. On December 19, 2005, Galloway lost his left arm above the elbow and left leg above the knee in an Improvised Explosive Device attack. He was transported to Germany to receive medical treatment, remaining unconscious for five days. Galloway woke up late in the evening on Christmas Eve to learn he lost two of his limbs and sustained severe injuries to his right leg and his jaw. Galloway was then transferred to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. After a long stint in recovery and rehabilitation, Galloway did what many disabled veterans do, becoming withdrawn, out of shape and depressed. The former fitness fanatic and hyper competitive athlete was now drinking, smoking and sleeping his days away. But late one night, Galloway took a long look in the mirror and realized there was more to him than the injuries so he set a goal to get back in shape, be healthier and inspire others. Now a personal trainer and motivational speaker, the father of three doesn’t take excuses from his clients, fans and followers. He continues to compete, participating in adventure races around the country, such as Tough Mudder, Spartan events plus numerous 5K and 10K races. A sought after public speaker, Galloway travels the country sharing his story, encouraging and motivating others to offer no excuses. Most recently, Galloway appeared on the November cover of Men’s Health Magazine, as he was named the publication’s 2014 Ultimate Guy. He’s also been a guest on numerous national talk shows including Ellen and The Today Show. A firm believer in giving back to those around him in need, Galloway recently created the No Excuses Charitable Fund, which raises money and awareness for organizations that mean the most to him, including Operation Enduring Warrior and the YMCA of Alabaster, AL. AFTER A SUCCESSFUL TV CAREER SPANNING MORE THAN THREE DECADES, ANNE SWEENEY ANNOUNCES HER DEPARTURE FROM THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY IN JANUARY 2015

Sweeney to Leave Executive Ranks to Become a Director Burbank, California - Tuesday, March 11, 2014 – Anne Sweeney, who oversaw 18 years of tremendous growth and success of Disney’s global entertainment and news properties and who helped shepherd the television industry into the digital age, today announced that she would be departing The Walt Disney Company [NYSE: DIS] in January of 2015 to pursue a career in Television Directing. Sweeney, who joined the company in 1996, is currently co-chair, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC Television Group. In commenting on her decision, Ms. Sweeney stated, “The past 18 years at Disney have been the highlight of my executive career. I’ve been a part of an amazing evolution in our business and our industry, and have achieved far more than I ever thought possible. But as wonderful as the experience has been, there has always been a nagging voice in the back of my head pushing me to step out of the comfort zone of the executive ranks and more directly into the creative arena that enticed me to TV in the first place. I finally listened to that voice and thought, ‘if not now, when?’ I know my decision to step back from all of this to learn the art of Directing may seem surprising, but to me it’s a long realized dream. I am so thankful to Bob Iger for his leadership, guidance and his friendship over the years, and am grateful not only for his offer to remain with the Company for many years to come, but his understanding and support of my decision to make this change. I’m excited to spend the remainder of this year positioning the TV Group for even greater success.” Mr. Iger added, “Since joining Disney, Anne has been a very successful executive in our senior ranks. Over the years, she grew our Disney Channel business into a global powerhouse and the main brand driver of our Company around the world; built ABC Family into a top cable network here in the U.S.; made ABC a strong, successful content creation engine; and has been a great partner in leading our industry into the digital age. Anne’s collaborative spirit, genuine curiosity and unwavering support have been a constant, but it is her friendship that I most value. I applaud Anne for knowing what she wants out of life and for having the courage to follow her dream. We’re thrilled she’ll be with us through the end of the year, and look forward to having her direct one of our shows in the future.” As co-chair, Disney Media Networks, and president, Disney/ABC Television Group, Anne Sweeney oversees The Walt Disney Company's global entertainment and news television properties. This includes ABC Studios; the ABC Owned Television Stations Group; the ABC Television Network, which provides entertainment, news and kids programming to tens-of-millions of viewers via more than 200 affiliated stations across the U.S.; successful millennial-focused cable channel ABC Family, which, under Sweeney’s supervision, has become a top cable destination for Females 12-34 and Women 18-34; and Disney Channels Worldwide, a portfolio of 107 kid-driven, family-inclusive entertainment channels, including Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, Disney Cinemagic, Hungama, and Radio Disney brands. Since taking oversight of Disney Channels Worldwide, Disney Channel has enjoyed explosive growth and ratings success, currently celebrating 142 straight weeks as the #1 TV Network with Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14. And Disney Junior, the portfolio’s most recent addition, has quickly become the #1 preschool channel on television. Additionally, Ms. Sweeney's responsibilities include the company's successful equity interest in A+E Networks, Fusion, and Hulu. In a first for “Dancing with the Stars,” the competition will feature a new game changing twist called “The Switch Up.” This season, America will be given the power to vote and change celebrities and professional dance pairings. This new rule will affect all couples as they will be required to switch partners at a point in the season. Never before have dance partnerships been split up during the course of competition. As announced this morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America” by “Dancing with the Stars” hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, the 12 celebrities with their professional partners heading to the dance floor this season (in alphabetical order) are: SEAN AVERY — Former pro hockey player Sean Avery is known for his unpredictable antics on the ice and a humorous personality. During his twelve year hockey career, he played left wing for the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Dallas Stars, and the New York Rangers. Controversy followed him wherever he played, and he became known as much for his mercurial style of play as for his eclectic interests. These interests led Avery to many unique experiences including an internship at Vogue Magazine, working under the famed Anna Wintour and André Leon Talley. He has been featured in numerous ad campaigns as a model, including 7 For All Mankind and is currently the Luxury Advertising Director at Playboy. Also an activist, Avery is on the Board of Directors of Athlete Ally, a nonprofit raising awareness about homophobia and transphobia in sports. SEAN AVERY partners with KARINA SMIRNOFF. The success of that show led to the creation of “Drew Carey’s Improv All-Stars,” an improv troupe that performs in showrooms across the country. In July 2007, he was named the host of “The Price Is Right,” succeeding longtime host Bob Barker. He began his successful career as a comedian in April of 1986 at the Cleveland Comedy Club.
