New Zootopia Trailer from Walt Disney Animation Studios

Good news! This morning we can all enjoy an early New Year’s gift from Walt Disney Animation Studios, a new trailer from Zootopia! In it, Officer Judy Hopps partners with Nick Wilde to solve Hopps’ first case. The trailer also features Shakira’s new single “Try Everything.”

Wow, lets watch that again. It’s obvious Disney has put a lot of thought and creativity into creating the world of Zootopia. I’m pretty sure I saw a couple pop culture and theme park easter eggs in there too. I think this is going to be fun, how about you?

Movie Synopsis:

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore and co-directed by Jared Bush, opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.

‘The Expanse’ Renewed For Season 2 By Syfy

Four episodes into its freshman run, Syfy’s space drama series The Expanse has been renewed for a second season. The network has increased the order — from 10 episodes in Season 1 to 13 in Season 2, which will air in early 2017.

The Expanse marked the first TV series from Alcon Television Group, which finances and produces it. Because of the long lead time and extensive special effects required, Alcon had commissioned scripts and had started prep work on Season 2 even before the series’ November debut.

“The Expanse is firing on all cylinders creatively, building a passionate fan base among viewers and critics alike, and delivering on Syfy’s promise of smart, provocative science fiction entertainment,” said Dave Howe, President, Syfy and Chiller.

The Expanse got off to a strong multi-platform start. The premiere episode, made available on VOD, TV Everywhere and digital platforms on November 23, three weeks ahead of its linear debut on the network, has been sampled by 4.5 million viewers. The series’ linear viewership has been OK, not great — 1.6 million Live+3 viewers on average for the first three episodes. For comparison, Syfy drama Defiance averaged almost 2 million viewers (L3) for its most recent third season before being canceled.

Set 200 years in the future, The Expanse, based on the bestselling book series, follows the case of a missing young woman that brings a hardened detective (Thomas Jane) and a rogue ship’s captain (Steven Strait) together in a race across the solar system that will expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.

The series, from Alcon and the Sean Daniel Co., returns with new episodes January 5. Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children Of Men, Iron Man) serve as writers, executive producers and showrunners. Executive producer Naren Shankar (Farscape) is showrunner. Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson serve as executive producers along with former president of Alcon Television Sharon Hall. Alcon Television executive Ben Roberts serves as co-producer. Sean Daniel and Jason Brown of the Sean Daniel Company are executive producers. Ben Cook serves as a producer.

Sarah Silverman says Jesus is ‘gender fluid’

Sarah Silverman, the Grammy-nominated Jewish comedienne with a penchant for deploying sarcasm when tackling controversial and risque issues, faced a backlash on the social network Twitter over the past few days after tweeting that Jesus was “gender fluid.”

Silverman has a strong following on Twitter, and uses it to deliver snarky, irreverent remarks to over 7.5 million followers.

On Christmas Day, she wished her followers an all-caps “MERRY CHRISTMAS!” and informed them helpfully that “Jesus was gender fluid!”

Five heart icons followed the remark.

The tweet was a favorite among her fans, who retweeted it 1,100 times and “liked” it 3,300 times.

But it also sparked a backlash, starting with the straightforward “No he wasn’t!”

And “Have some respect”

Not everyone was polite about the point.

at must her critics have thought of her final Christmas Day Twitter message:

David Fincher Is Developing an FBI Crime Drama for Netflix

Netflix is developing a crime drama called Mindhunter from executive producers David Fincher and Charlize Theron, Deadline reports.

Mindhunter will be based on the 1996 book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit by former special agent John Douglas and Mark Olshaker.

Douglas, a retired FBI agent who was instrumental in the development of the criminal profiling discipline,

is a partial inspiration for the fictional characters of Will Graham on Hannibal and Jason Gideon on Criminal Minds.

Netflix and Fincher have a proven track record together, as he is an executive producer for House of Cards and won an Emmy for directing that show's pilot.

Fincher is expected to direct at least some of Mindhunter, which will return him to the "pursuit-of-a-serial-killer" genre of his films Se7en and Zodiac.

Theron will executive-produce through her company Denver and Delilah. Fincher has recruited playwright Joe Penhall to write.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik made their relationship Instagram official the other day when Zayn posted a cuddly selfie of the two of them. While there was no caption, a picture is of course worth one thousand words. After that photo surfaced,Gigi was seen going to Zayn's house in London.

Hmm...no word yet on if these two are actually an item but according to a new report Gigi really hopes Zayn doesn't become clingy like her past boyfriends! Gigi is super confident with herself so we don't blame her for wanting to be both independent as well as find someone to love.

"She really likes him, but in her previous relationships the guys got very clingy and she hopes he doesn’t fall into the same patterns," the source said. "Gigi and Joe [Jonas] split because she honestly just wasn’t that into him. He was obsessed with her and has been for a long time. He was texting and calling her even when she was with Cody. He smothered her and wanted her to come on tour with him."

Whoa! We did not know this! We're not sure if all of this is true but if it is we're glad Gigi has found someone that can be just as carefree and fun as she is! Both Gigi and Zayn are still so young, there's no reason to make things so serious right away.

Still plugging away at their “Countdown to Christmas,” programming event Hallmark has released a slew of incredibly heartwarming movies this season to elevate your holiday spirit. Christmas Land is about a busy businesswoman who finds out that she has inherited a Christmas-themed farm from her deceased grandmother. This holiday feature is directed by Sam Irvin and written by Robin Archer, Jay Cipriani, and Daisy Maclean. The cast stars Nikki Deloach as Jules Cooper, Luke Macfarlane as Tucker Martin, Richard Karn as Mason Richards, and Jason-Shane Scott as Mitchell. Hallmark’s Christmas Land Synopsis

Christmas Land follows Jules Cooper, a marketing exec who learns that her dear grandmother, Glinda, has passed away. Not only that, but she is told that her grandmother left her a Christmas tree farm in need of repair. Tucker Martin, the handsome attorney who is overseeing the countryside property, encourages Jules to think long and hard about selling the farm. Not wanting to deal with it at first, Jules has a change of heart once she lays eyes on the place again, which brings back warm and cozy memories of spending time on the farm with her grandmother as a child. With just the right touch, it’s possible that she can restore the magic back to this Christmas farm once again. First, she must deal with a shrewd businessman named Mason Richards, who wants the charming Christmas-themed village all to himself. Now, Jules must decide whether she wants to go back home to her boyfriend and continue working on her growing career, or if she wants to stay to see how her new budding relationship with Tucker Martin develops.

Filming for Christmas Land took place in Salt Lake City, Utah, according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDB). Producers absolutely love filming there, since Utah is known for its beautiful mountains, picturesque scenes, natural resources, and generous film production tax breaks. Hallmark’s Christmas Land doesn’t skimp on the holiday charm. It has all of the elements of Christmas that viewers look forward to seeing in a movie. You’ll enjoy the powdery white streets, the majestic snow-capped mountains, the dark olive trees, with specks of bright red that peek out in just about every scene.

Its stunning views definitely exude an elegance and charm that makes a Hallmark viewer want to grab a blanket and sit by the fireplace during the movie. Additionally, the writing and the actors deliver an impressive storyline showcasing all that makes the season bright.

Take a look at Christmas Land’s Cast

Nikki DeLoach

“DeLoach can currently be seen on MTV’s #1 scripted and critically acclaimed show, “Awkward.” She is considered one of television’s “hottest moms” with her portrayal of Lacey Hamilton, the young and well-meaning mother of Jenna, the show’s focus. The series has been praised by fans and critics alike, and has appeared on numerous “Best of TV Lists” including TV Guide’s Hot List, Variety, USA Today, Huffington Post, The New York Times and Time Magazine, to name just a few.”

Luke Macfarlane

“Macfarlane is best known for his role on ABC’s hit television series “Brothers and Sisters.” He is also known for his work on the critically acclaimed Steven Bochco FX series, “Over There” and Macfarlane most recently starred in the CBC mini-series “Iron Road” leading an all-star cast including Peter O’Toole and Sam Neill.() Luke currently stars as one of the leads on the Syfy series “Killjoys” and will soon be seen in the PBS Civil War medical drama, “Mercy Street.”
