The 5 key details that marked the runway of Dior Couture SS16

A monumental structure cover hundreds of mirrors gave birth to one of the most anticipated parades of Paris Haute Couture week: Christian Dior spring summer 2016. Despite the noticeable absence of Raf Simmons, transparencies, deep necklines, asymmetric cuts and a myriad of textures formed part of the new collection of the maison. We present you the most outstanding details:

1. Infinite maze

Glass and mirrors porcelained the huge structure that was mounted on the Musée Rodin.

2. Sensual transparencies

With fabrics such as lace, pleated tulle and chiffon, designs let see to an ultra sexy women Dior silhouette.

3. Shoulders to the Bardot

The neckline which is named after the French icon returns this season stronger than ever.

4. Minimal essence

The look of beauty framed with red lips -almost wine- femininity and a subtle black outlined.

5. The obsession continues: Mules

Saw them last season with designs of no. 21, also, in the last parade of Chanel (Métiers D´Art) decorated with pearls and now, Dior checks the forecast: shoes with heel discovered reign during this spring.

9 Style Instagram Accounts For Weird Girls Who Have Offbeat Taste

Maybe I’m picky, maybe I’m just a hater, but I’m so not enthused by a ton of style related bloggers and Instagram folks. So many of them are only really focused on what’s on trend. Whatever, dude. If I wanted to know what was on trend, I’d open a magazine or go on some mainstream fashion site. I love finding little spots on the Internet where true originality resides. It’s inspiring and a lot more fun than seeing the millionth girl wearing a kimono from Free People. Talk about boring.

So if you want a little more flavor as you’re scrolling through your Insta, check out these nine Instagram accounts that you fellow weird girls with offbeat taste will love.

1. TokyoFashion

This. Account. Is. Amazing. I always knew that Tokyo and its neighborhoods harbored some folks with some seriously out there fashions, but this account does an awesome job of showing how style diverse this city is. Not everything will be to your taste, but you’re going to definitely get some style ideas.

2. Mermaidens

Maybe I’m biased because I know for a fact that Kailey is awesome, but I wouldn’t mention her Instagram account if she wasn’t also one of the cutest, quirkiest dressers I’ve ever known. She manages to make even the most basic, ultra feminine items look whimsical. Definitely follow if you want to see some seriously dreamy looks on your Instagram feed. Oh, and if you like pink…a lot.

3. Inu-Inu

Honestly, I haven’t even bought anything from this shop yet. I just love looking at the photos because the models are super diverse and the clothes are super wacky. Definitely an account to follow if you need for flavor on your feed.

4. Its_MeAndYou

If you want to check out some gals who have their feminist pride literally written out on their chest (and butts), then check out this account for Me And You, an independent clothing line that sells feminist inspired clothing! Also, the account is just super aesthetically pleasing.

5. Kakihatamayu

Not only does Cat post super cute selfies, she also posts fun pics of zines, records, etc. It’s sort of like following any other girl’ Instagram account, except…a lot cooler, somehow. She has somehow managed to make simple band shirts and leather jackets look way cooler than they already are. Magic.

6. SomewhereXNowhere

I’m not even sure how I stumbled upon this account…but I’m so glad I did. If you love checking out some seriously vibrant clothes and accessories, you’ll definitely want to follow these guys. All of the pastel, please!

7. The Line Up

NYC based Instagram account The Line Up offers some awesome looks that are as diverse and vibrant as the city it represents. Just from scrolling through for a few seconds I got a healthy dose of hair goals and inspo to hit up the thrift shop. It doesn’t update a billion times a day or anything, but I can safely say that every post is q-u-a-l-i-t-y!

8. BeeXLaura

Gah! Love this girl, love this Insta. She’s part ultra cute park spooky and that’s what so awesome about her. Also, her hair is such an amazing blue that I’ve never really seen pulled off so effortlessly. So if you like some weird style, weird selfies, and kawaii-inspired posts with a twist, you deffo need to follow her.

9. Very.Small

You know when you just look at an account and you’re immediately drawn in to the aesthetics. Yeah, that’s very.small in a nutshell. It’s colors, colors everywhere and her feed is full of her cute outfits and her equally cute gal pals. If you don’t get any style inspo out of it, you’ll at least get inspired to make your feed look as pretty.

Hanky Panky Hits The Street at SXSW – Lingerie Talk

So you’re elbowing your way through the crowd at one of the world’s biggest music festivals and a stranger comes up and asks if you’d like to be a lingerie model. Right here, right now. Do you: A) scream and run away; B) call the police; or C) ask if you get to keep the product? If the brand involved is Hanky Panky, chances are you’d answer C. The popular New York-based company known for its colorful stretch lace thongs sent a photographer into the streets of Austin, Texas this week for a bit of guerrilla marketing, asking patrons of the SXSW music festival to pose for the brand on the spot. And yes, they got paid in underwear. “Everyone we approached on the street, they all knew who Hanky Panky was,” photographer Becky Yee told Lingerie Talk. “But a dozen girls still said no.” Becky and an assistant sought out prospective models on Austin streets and got them to change into some of Hanky Panky‘s more streetworthy pieces in the bathrooms of nearby bars. The impromptu shoots typically drew a crowd, as Becky photographed the amateur models on the street, in bars and atop a giant model of Austin’s mascot, the jackalope. The images of Hanky Panky‘s ad hoc “Panty Parade” were posted on the brand’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
The project, which Becky proposed to Hanky Panky only a few days before the start of SXSW Music, is another example of brands using non-professional models and social media tools in their marketing mix in an effort to connect with customers’ lifestyles. SXSW is a coveted launch platform for brands, thanks to its cutting-edge mix of indie films, musical acts and interactive technologies. Becky, a fashion and culture photographer who shoots at festivals around the world, got the idea for a guerrilla lingerie shoot after trying something similar last summer at the Sonar festival in Barcelona — except that time the models were asked to pose in designer RTW fashions. Becky was already booked to go to SXSW this week as the official photographer for The Zombies, and looked for a lingerie brand to partner with. “I approached a bunch of underwear companies to try something like this and they all thought I was crazy,” she said. “I”m so happy Hanky Panky believed in me.” Given the public nature of the shoot, Becky didn’t use any of Hanky Panky‘s famous thongs or other garments considered too racy, instead featuring the brand’s bright lace crop tops, camisole, bike shorts and boyshorts. And some of the shots required a bit of improvisation. To complete the image below, she convinced a bystander to lend them her cowboy hat “by offering to buy them a beer.” The music portion of SXSW wraps up on Sunday. Becky said she is hoping to try shooting another “panty parade” at other upcoming festivals like Coachella, Iceland Airwaves and New York’s Governors Ball. Here are a few more images from this unique project.
