‘Unsolved’: Marcc Rose And Wavyy Jonez Cast As Tupac And Biggie In USA’s Murder Mystery Pilot

Marcc Rose Wavyy Jonez Unsolved

Tupac BiggieMarcc Rose (Straight Outta Compton) and newcomer Wavyy Jonez have been tapped to play Tupac and Notorious B.I.G., respectively, in Unsolved, USA’s scripted drama pilot that follows the major police investigations into the murders of the iconic rappers.

Rose will play Tupac Shakur. A poet, actor and legendary rapper, Shakur was as brilliant as he was self-destructive. Shot and killed in Las Vegas in 1996, his murder still remains unsolved today.

In his first acting role, Jonez is set to portray Christopher Wallace, AKA Biggie Smalls. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Wallace quickly went from honor student to small-time drug dealer to the face of East Coast rap. The “Mo Money Mo Problems” rapper was shot and killed in Los Angeles, just six months after Shakur. His murder also remains a mystery.

Unsolved is based on the experiences of former LAPD Detective Greg Kading, who led multiple law-enforcement task forces investigating the murders and wrote the book Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations. Rose and Jonez join previously announced cast Josh Duhamel as Detective Kading, Jimmi Simpson as Detective Russell Poole and Bokeem Woodbine as Officer Daryn Dupree.

From Universal Cable Productions (UCP), Unsolved will be directed by Emmy winner Anthony Hemingway (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story), who will also executive produce alongside Mark Taylor through their Hemingway | Taylor production company. Kyle Long (Suits) is writing the pilot and will also executive produce. Kading is consulting on the pilot script and will also serve as co-executive producer.

Rose made his acting debut as Tupac in Universal’s Straight Outta Compton, directed by F. Gary Gray. The 24-year-old, who hails from Brooklyn, NY, is repped by ICM Partners.

Jonez’s video audition captured the attention of casting directors and Hemingway during a nationwide open casting call to fill the role of Biggie. A rapper with a metaphorical style reminiscent of New York artists of the 1990s, Jonez has released a mixtape, R.E.D. D.O.P.E. (Real Everyday Drama Doing Over People’s Expectation). Jonez is repped by Yasmine Pearl at First Access Entertainment.

The ‘Vampire Diaries’ Producer Just Revealed MAJOR Clues About the Finale

Though the Vampire Diaries series finale doesn't air until March 10, it seems everything that's rumored to go down – between Nina Dobrev's return and the death of a major character – is slowly being confirmed. Last night, series producer Julie Plec took to Twitter to run a Q&A session for fans. In the process, she revealed a lot about what's going to happen.

"Dear #TVD twitter," she began in her first post. "You guys have been very patient and open-minded while I do my tweeting about the world. Now it's your time. Any ???'s" Fans immediately began responding, asking whether or not the death in the final episode is a main character's (it is), if Delena would be having a reunion (they will come "face to face") and where the finale will be taking place (the Salvatore house).

A few other key pieces of information that were revealed in the process were that we will be seeing Katherine in the finale, there will either be flashbacks or forwards (or both), and there won’t be any new kids introduced, just the ones we’ve already met (Caroline and Alaric’s).

Amid some of the more pressing questions that had to do with the plot itself, Julie was also able to answer a few about what's included in the hour-long special before the finale airs ("a nice trip down memory lane with cast interviews and clips and stuff") and that her hardest goodbye would be to the entire cast and crew – she couldn't pick just one.

"It's pretty beautiful," she concluded when asked about whether or not she'd enjoy watching the show come to an end. "Sad, but beautiful."

An “American Horror Story” Crossover Season Between “Murder House” and “Coven” Is Coming

We could spend all day trying to guess what Ryan Murphy has in store for future seasons ofAmerican Horror Story — he definitely kept us guessing about the theme of season six for long enough! — but now we officially have some answers straight from Ryan himself. On Sunday in a panel at Entertainment Weekly's PopFest, the AHS show runner revealed that a future season will bring two of his past seasons together.

In a follow-up question about Ryan's past hints at returning to the show's third season, Coven,Ryan told us all exactly what he has in store: "We do know what we’re going to do," he said. "It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover betweenMurder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre."

We'll give you a moment to freak out now.

OK, we're back, so let's review: AHS season one Murder House and Coven will combine for an epic crossover season, but it's definitely not happening in season seven. And how exactly will this work? Ryan explained that some characters from each season will be involved.

"I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, 'I think in this window, if you could fit us in,'" said Ryan. "So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird."

Emma Roberts, who was present for the panel, had expressed earlier in the day that she hoped to return to AHS, according to EW, and cheered at the crossover news. Perhaps Ryan already has one actor on board?

No word on how Ryan plans to deal with the fact that many actors on the show played different characters in both season one and season three or how the two, very separate worlds of Murder House and Coven will come together — after all, both are pretty closely tied to their respective locations, Los Angeles and New Orleans. Also, Ryan has hinted before that AHS seasons would begin to connect starting with season six (remember when it was revealed that Lady Gaga'sRoanoke character is actually the original Supreme?).

And then there's this secret season Ryan keeps teasing. It also definitely isn't happening in season seven. So basically we have no idea when we can expect to see our favorite ghosts and witches start to mingle.

Alas, so many mysteries still to unravel.

David Fincher Is Developing an FBI Crime Drama for Netflix

Netflix is developing a crime drama called Mindhunter from executive producers David Fincher and Charlize Theron, Deadline reports.

Mindhunter will be based on the 1996 book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit by former special agent John Douglas and Mark Olshaker.

Douglas, a retired FBI agent who was instrumental in the development of the criminal profiling discipline,

is a partial inspiration for the fictional characters of Will Graham on Hannibal and Jason Gideon on Criminal Minds.

Netflix and Fincher have a proven track record together, as he is an executive producer for House of Cards and won an Emmy for directing that show's pilot.

‘OUAT’: Hook takes one for the team, Emma has yet another love lost

In its fifth season winter finale, “Once Upon a Time” gets out of the pickle of all pickles.

After countless Dark Ones decided to take a road trip to Storybrooke, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) was in danger of having her loved ones go to the Underworld in their places.

Even Rumpelstilskin (Robert Carlyle) — who just got back with Belle — was especially pessimistic about the situation. His only suggestion is for the group to say their goodbyes because they are sure to die soon.

In their toughest feat to date, good eventually prevails. Hook turns out not to be all bad after all and takes one for the team in a literal sense.

After casting out all of the dark magic and sacrificing himself in the process, poor Emma has yet another love lost.

Unfortunately for her, Hook dies for nothing. In actuality, Rumple pulls a fast one and illogically absorbs the powers of every Dark One ever. So many questions, but that doesn’t seem to be a big deal.

Emma is upset that her beloved Hook is dead, so she decides to go to the Underworld and get him back. Yes, you read write. “Once Upon a Time” is going to Hell.

“Hook, I will find you. I will always find you,” Emma declares while taking a cruise with what looks to be the Grim Reaper.

After three of Emma’s romances dying in front of her in seasons one and three, it makes sense that she won’t let this one go down with a fight.

As the entire gang piles into the boat of death, the cost won’t be cheap. Someone will have to sacrifice their life in order to come back, but there is sure to be some sort of loop hole that the crew will figure out.

When it returns in March, the ABC series will have guest appearances from Disney’s mythological feature “Hercules.” Upon arriving to the Underworld, Hades will meet the heroes, no doubt.

Also set to appear are Hercules and Megora , who will be played by Jonathan Whitesell and Kacey Rohl, respectively.

One character that will not be shown for a while is Zelena (Rebecca Mader). The Wicked Witch of the West was swept away to Oz by her Regina (Lana Parilla).

“Once Upon a Time” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
